Wayne Gross and Alan Greenberg, co-founding partners of Greenberg Gross LLP, a flourishing Costa Mesa law firm, attribute
much of their success to their client-centered approach.

Greenberg Gross’s expansive offices, located on the 17th floor of the Center Tower at South Coast Plaza – one of the tallest buildings in Orange County – showcases rich furnishings and design accents that reflect the firm’s, as Gross says, “sophisticated and cosmopolitan atmosphere.” These include walnut cabinetry with granite tops, walls painted in contrasting hues and a colorful variety of contemporary art pieces that showcase some originals and serialized prints.

Notable rooms in the law firm’s office include its 500-square-foot Main Conference Room (pictured), which offers a stunning view looking north across Orange County; the War Room, a windowless space with floor-to-ceiling dry-erase boards on three of its four walls; the soundproof VIP Room, which offers a 270-degree view of O.C.; and the staffers’ break room, which includes a flat-screen
TV and a well-stocked refrigerator and pantry.

Wayne Gross Named Board Member of Goodwill of Orange County

Greenberg Gross Partner, Wayne Gross, was named to the Board of Directors for Goodwill of Orange County.

Since 1924, the organization has helped those with disabilities find employment, become independent and support themselves and their families. What started as a storefront on Fourth Street in Santa Ana has since become a leading employer with more than 900 employees, half of which possess barriers to independence, and an annual budget of more than $78 million. Goodwill is particularly proud of the fact that 91 cents of every dollar spent goes directly to services for people with disabilities.

Founders of Greenberg Gross LLP Selected Again for Inclusion in Best Lawyers

COSTA MESA (August 20, 2013) – Alan A. Greenberg and Wayne R. Gross, the founders of Greenberg Gross LLP, were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2014 (Copyright 2013 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC). Alan Greenberg was selected for inclusion in the practice area of Commercial Litigation while Wayne Gross was recognized for his experience in the practice area of White-Collar Criminal Defense.

“We are honored to be selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers again,” said Wayne Gross. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to our clients and highlights the connection we have established with our peers and the legal community as a whole.”

Prior to forming Greenberg Gross LLP, the partners grabbed national headlines for winning a $50 million jury verdict in a partnership dispute regarding iconic Hollywood Properties, including the world-famous Palladium.  Greenberg Gross LLP is headquartered on the 17th floor of the Center Tower building in Costa Mesa.  Since its formation in April 2013, the firm has grown to eight lawyers, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes business cases.

Best Lawyers® was first published in 1983 and has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence.  Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which almost 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.  Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.

Greenberg Gross: “Legal Bigwigs” at Forefront of New Trend

High-stakes OC litigation firm, Greenberg Gross, is mentioned in a Daily Journal article about how smaller firms are competing with midsize firms.

Midsize firms used to have to watch for competition in one direction – up to big firms. In the constant tussle for market share, middle-of-the-road firms tried grabbing work from their bigger peers, while big firms sometimes tried to snag midsize work. But a new trend is forcing mid-level firms to look out for competition in another direction – down to small firms.

In Orange County alone, the recent influx of small firms includes the opening in April of litigation boutique Greenberg Gross LLP in Costa Mesa, founded by local legal bigwigs Wayne R. Gross and Alan A. Greenberg, former heads of Greenberg Traurig LLP’s litigation department.

Law360 – Greenberg Attorneys Establish Greenberg Gross LLP

Orange County litigation attorney Wayne Gross was quoted in Law360 regarding the benefits of forming Greenberg Gross LLP with partner and fellow former Greenberg Traurig shareholder, Alan Greenberg.

“Big firms traditionally use a leverage-billing model that does not reward efficiency,” Gross said. “If a case calls for a contingent fee, a fixed fee or a hybrid fee, Greenberg Gross will provide such an alternative billing option to the client.”

Gross and Greenberg both said they thoroughly enjoyed their time at Greenberg Traurig, but desired to do more plaintiffs work representing businesses.

“We wanted to be free of big-firm conflict restrictions,” Gross said.

Daily Journal – Ex-Greenberg Lawyers Open New Firm – Greenberg Gross LLP

Greenberg Gross partner Wayne Gross was quoted in the Daily Journal about the formation of Greenberg Gross LLP. The firm was founded with former Greenberg Traurig shareholder Alan Greenberg, with the intent to focus on high-stakes litigation cases. The benefit of starting a smaller, more focused practice, Wayne says, is that they will be able to avoid the conflict restrictions imposed by larger firms and offer their clients more flexible fee arrangements.

“It’s now at a point where I would like the freedom to represent the business client that I would like to represent without big firm conflict issues that sometimes arise,” Gross said.

“Additionally big firms are often limited to representing defendants in business litigation case. By having our own firm, we can represent plaintiffs as well defendants.”
